The Gateway Golf Course offers a fun and player-friendly 9-hole layout with challenging Par 3 and Par 4 holes. This 3,000 yard course is encouraging for novice golfers, yet enticing enough for avid golfers to sharpen their short-game skills.
The Learning Center at Gateway offers a complete practice facility which includes a driving range, putting green and private instruction area that will accommodate up to 80 golfers who want to focus on improving their game. Lake Lurleen State Park
13226 Lake Lurleen Road, Coker, AL
Located nine miles northwest of Tuscaloosa and Northport, this 1,625-acre park is a scenic retreat set on the banks of Lake Lurleen and offers plenty of recreation and relaxation. Facilities include a modern campground, activity building, picnic areas, play areas, pavilions, a beach and bathhouse, fishing piers, RV storage, boat rentals and boat-launch areas. The main attraction at the park is the 250-acre Lake Lurleen. The lake measures nearly one and a half miles in length, one-half mile wide, and at its deepest is 48 feet. The lake is stocked with largemouth bass, bream, catfish, and crappie so anglers are sure to reel in a nice-sized catch. Boat-launch areas and ample pier and bank fishing are available.
BOATING AND FISHING
Lake Lurleen is a man-made 250-acre lake. It assumes an elongated shape with four major branches and three minor ones. The lake measures nearly one and one-half miles in length and up to one-half mile wide. The deepest portion of the lake is 48 feet.

Hidden Meadows Golf Course is a semi-private, family owned and operated golf course located in Northport, Alabama. Guest will enjoy an 18 hole championship golf course featuring Tift Dwarf Bermuda Greens; practice facility including driving range and large putting green; and a clubhouse with a pro shop and mixed grille. Hidden Meadows also has a swimming facility (for members use only) including a large pool, baby pool, and bathrooms. Come and play Northport's finest golf course.

TASHKA TRAIL SYSTEM
The Tashka Trail System totals approximately 23.47 miles of trails comprised on one main trail with five loops off of the main trail. This system has only two trail heads (north and south) to access the trails.

Please stay within the roped off area, and stay off of the rope and anchor poles. This restriction is for your safety.

A small beach side pavilion is available on a first come first serve basis and is not reservable - no cooking/grilling allowed
Beach bathroom provided - exterior rinse showers only
Alcohol, pets and cooking are not allowed on the beach, beach pavilion, parking lot, playground, or surrounding areas
The use of metal detectors on the beach or any area of the park is prohibited without prior approval from the park manager

Picnic areas are available at Lake Lurleen State Park. Tables and pedestal charcoal grills are on site, or bring your own grill.

Golfing
DeSoto State Park has partnered with the City of Fort Payne to offer golf at the municipal course.
DeSoto Golf Course is a 9-hole regulation length golf course, the short layout will reward good shots and provide a fun golf outing for everyone. The terrain is rolling with a lake that comes into play. It features 3,007 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. There's an additional set of men's tees when playing an eighteen hole round.
Hiking
Pack a picnic lunch and head out for a day exploring the ridges, waterfalls and river in beautiful DeSoto State Park.
Located on Lookout Mountain, DeSoto State Park has over 30 miles of hiking trails, including 11 + miles of mountain bike trails. Most interconnect with each other, while others take you into more remote areas. DSP’s trail system boasts interesting rock formations, small seasonal waterfalls, a variety of diverse plant communities, plentiful animal life, and beautiful views of the West Fork of Little River, which flows downstream into interconnecting Little River Canyon.
Terrain on the trails can vary from 'easy' to strenuous.
Mountain Biking
DeSoto State Park has over 30 miles of hiking trails, including up to 11+ miles of mountain biking trails. Terrain on all trails varies from easy to strenuous.
Helmets are required for children 16 & under.
Swimming
DeSoto's Olympic-size pool is fun for the whole family! Olympic-size pool complete with diving board and ADA-lift. Pool is located close to DeSoto State Park's picnic area, and within 1/2 mile of the Country Store & Information Center.
Swimming & Wading is allowed in the West Fork of Little River, which runs through DeSoto State Park. Accessed by the yellow trail in DeSoto State Park (DeSoto Scout Trail)-Water Level varies. No Lifeguard--swim at your own risk.
Cloudmont Ski and Golf Resort

Saddle Rock Golf Course is a part of the eight hundred acre Cloudmont Resort complex. The course is open seven days a week. Play is on nine holes from 18 tees and the first tee is unique, lofted above a fairway on a 30-foot rock.

Seven trails among six distinct ecosystems make up more than 25 miles of the Hugh S. Branyon Backcountry Trail complex through the cities of Orange Beach and Gulf Shores, and Gulf State Park. Explore the timeless beauty of the Butterfly Garden, the mystical Freshwater Marshes and the Coastal Hardwood Swamps. Camping
Located 1.5 miles from the white sand beaches, Gulf State Park Campground offers 496 improved full - hookup campsites with paved pads and with 11 primitive sites. Tents are welcome on all sites.
All full hookup camping pads are large enough for RVs with pullouts and have picnic tables, pedestal grill tops (no fire rings yet but you are welcome to bring your own that are above ground)
