Oliver Winery
8024 North State Road 37, Bloomington, IN
Open Year Round
History:
Oliver Winery started in the 1960s as a hobby in the basement of Indiana University law professor William Oliver. His enthusiasm for making wine led him to establish a vineyard northwest of Bloomington. Soon the flourishing vines produced grapes far in excess of his needs as a hobby winemaker, and he began plans to open a commercial winery.
Professor Oliver was instrumental in passing legislation allowing for the creation of small wineries in Indiana. The Indiana Small Winery Act passed in 1971 and Oliver Winery opened to the public in 1972. Initially, sales were modest but grew quickly after we began making Camelot Mead, a light wine made from honey.
Professor Oliver's son, Bill, took charge of the winery in 1983. He focused on enhancing the visitor experience by increasing wine quality and variety, establishing gardens and providing great customer service. Sales grew steadily in the 80s, reaching 25,000 cases by 1990.
In 1993, Kathleen Oliver joined the winery as General Manager. This allowed Bill to focus on winemaking and viticulture and the new Creekbend Vineyard, which was started in 1994. Retail sales continued to grow and allowed for the construction of a new tasting room in 1997.
Major facility expansions occurred in 2002 and 2007 making Oliver Winery one of the largest wineries in the eastern United States.
In 2002, interstate expansion began as Kentucky became the first state outside of Indiana to offer Oliver wines. Today, we distribute in 18 states and ship across the country.
At Oliver Winery we connect people through wine, and that's really the best part of our story. Through the decades, customers have come to expect excellence in our products and service, and we're proud to continue that legacy.

Chateau Thomas Winery
6291 Cambridge Way, Plainfield, IN
Open Year Round
About Us:
It started in the 1970s, when Dr. Charles Thomas, a practicing obstetrician and gynecologist, decided to expand his winemaking hobby into a full-time venture. But first, he did his homework.
He dutifully collected and studied the finest French wines. He took various formal winemaking and wine-tasting courses. He traveled to Napa to study under some the most renowned winemakers in the world. Then, in 1984, he and his wife, Jill, launched Chateau Thomas Winery on Indianapolis's southside.
The incredible growth of Chateau Thomas Winery since then is a reflection of Dr. Thomas's commitment to his craft. These days, the winery produces more than 15,000 cases of 50 different varieties of wine annually. The wines are crafted in an old world, French tradition, from grapes imported from the west coast.

Carmel Peace Water Winery
37 West Main Street, Carmel, IN
Our Story:
My wife Laura is the kindest person I know. Somehow she has enough love in her heart to raise eight children, three dogs, two horses, two cats and even an orphaned cow. Despite all the organized chaos, she still finds a way to think of others... whether it is volunteering at schools, running a soup kitchen, or just practicing random acts of kindness.
It was a typical crazy weekend (six basketball games, four soccer matches, and an equestrian event) spent scrambling from one place to another in our 1966, 21-window Volkswagen "hippie van." We squeezed in a stop at our local Starbucks drive-thru and, as was her tradition, Laura paid for the double chocolate chip frappuccino the car behind us had ordered. The kids all smiled as they watched the joyous reaction of the lucky recipient.
That's when I realized we needed to do something more. What better way to do it than to share great wine with you! If the simple act of buying a stranger a cup of coffee can make someone's day, what can happen if we really set our minds to making a difference.
So while our family is large, our vision is larger. We truly believe the smallest act of kindness has a ripple effect that can help change the world. 50% of our net profits will be donated to charity, both locally and across the world. Enjoy our wine knowing every sip is helping make this world a better place.

Huber's Orchard, Winery and Vineyards
19816 Huber Road, Starlight, IN
Our Story:
When in 1843, Simon Huber settled this Southern Indiana farm, he brought with him from Baden-Baden, Germany his years of experience in fruit growing and wine making. From its humble 80 acre beginning, the farm has expanded to over 600 acres. Simon's vision has been perpetuated through the 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th generation Huber's living and working on the farm.
In the vineyards, 18 different varieties of grapes are grown for the production of our varietals and blended wines. As Indiana's largest wine-grape producer, our vineyards will produce nearly 400,000 pounds of grapes per year under normal weather conditions.
Next to the restored 1938 barn is the underground Wine Cellar. Within our cellar, the old world art of winemaking combines with the most modern equipment and technology to manifest our magnificent vintages. Every bit of our hard work has paid off with over 900 gold, silver & bronze awards from wine competitions from all regions of the United States. This same quality has been passed to you. We sincerely hope you will plan a visit to Huber Winery to sample and enjoy our wines and hospitality.

Fruitshine Wine
11752 W 1100 , N, Monticello, IN
Open: May - October
Our Winery is located on a farmstead, established in 1890, in Carroll County, Indiana. We purchased the farm in 1999 and immediately planted fruit trees to add to the orchard. As time passed, the fruit we didn't sell we started turning into wine. I use the same wine-making techniques passed down from my Spanish great-grandma and grandma, who used to make wine for the family. We started sharing our wine with family and friends to re-establish the tradition. Soon it became apparent to us that there was a great demand for our fruit wine.Â
We decided to open our winery to share our family tradition with everyone. We use only local, hand-picked, tree ripened fruit in the production of our hand-crafted, artisan created, small batch wines. No concentrates used here, just honest seasonal fruit. There is 1.5 lbs of tree ripened fruit in every jar we craft. It is a lot of fruit, but we refuse to compromise the integrity of great-grandmas wine. This is accomplished by refusing to use less fruit or lower quality ingredients. When we stand in the orchard, pick a peach, bite into it, and the juice drips out, that is the day we harvest the fruit. This is turned into wine that captures the fresh flavor in a jar. We believe the great taste of fresh fruit produces the best tasting wines.Â
