Los Reyes De La Torta, Tempe, AZ
This restaurant’s title translates to “The Kings of the Torta.” Let’s just say they don’t disappoint. A torta is a Mexican sandwich, but that term doesn’t do it justice. Each of Los Reyes tortas is packed to the brim with decadent ingredients. Take the La Reyna, for example. It’s filled with ham, chicken, beef, sausage, and even an omelet. The Torta King Carlos includes seven types of meat to go with its rich sauces and ingredients. Not feeling a torta? Go for a burrito. Their massive burritos are bursting at the seams and even come slathered in sauce and sour cream.
Oregano’s Pizza Bistro, Phoenix, AZ
No “big food” list is complete without Italian food. You can carbo-load at any of Oregano’s 20 Arizona locations. Their menu features epic-sized portions of Italian staples like lasagna, ziti, eggplant Parmesan and rigatoni. Really, though, Oregano’s is all about the pizza. Their Chicago deep-dish pizza is a towering combination of crust, cheese, and hearty ingredients. Grab a pizza cookie for dessert and worry about your waistline later.
Ohya Sushi, Korean, Grill and Bar, Glendale, AZ
Looking to load up on Asian food? Then make a trip to Ohya in Glendale. They’re purveyors of virtually every kind of Asian food. You can eat sushi, stir fry and teppanyaki all in one meal. Their real claim to fame, however, is the all you can eat Korean barbecue deal. You can cook over a dozen types of marinated meats from the confines of your table. This deal is available Monday-Wednesday. The best part? All you can eat barbecue and sushi is only $24.95.

Bobo’s Restaurant, Tucson, AZ
Bobo’s may look like any other hole-in-the-wall breakfast spot. But it’s so much more. This Tucson staple serves up hearty, delicious meals at an incredibly low price. Their early bird special includes an egg, fries toast, and coffee for under $2. They dish up some of high-quality comfort food with some seriously large portions. Locals know to get the pancakes, which come with enough starch-filled goodness for two meals. Take one bite and you’ll be hooked.
Little Miss BBQ, Phoenix, AZ
There’s nothing like authentic southern BBQ. That’s what you get at Little Miss BBQ in Phoenix. This local favorite dishes up some of the best brisket, pulled pork, smoked sausage, and pork ribs in Arizona. All of their meat is cooked in an original R&O smoker that hails all the way from Texas. Their sandwiches are all bursting with juicy meats. However, their best (and biggest) option is The Jefe. It’s made with sausage, slaw, pickles, and your choice of chopped brisket, pulled pork, or turkey.
Venezia’s Pizzeria, Gilbert, AZ
Are you up for a challenge? Then bring your appetite to Venezia’s Pizzeria. This local pizza joint has some of the biggest slices around. They’ve brought new meaning to the term “Party Pizza.” You can get 24-inch pies like the Italian Stallion and Meat Lovers at their five Valley locations. They also make other favorites like calzones, baked ziti, and family sized spaghetti (emphasis on family-sized). Brave souls can try their Party Pizza Challenge. You and one partner can try to down an entire Party Pizza in less than one hour to earn a spot on the wall of fame.
Tanias "33" Mexican Food, Tucson, AZ
Head south of the border at Tania’s 33. This casual Mexican restaurant is known for dishing up some seriously large (and tasty) burritos. All of their burritos are made with home-style recipes that date back to 1927 and reinforced with fresh-wrapped tortillas. Tania’s is also home to the biggest burrito known to man: The mighty B. Rex. It’s a mammoth burrito stuffed with carne asada, guacamole, sour cream, beans, rice, cheese, pico de gallo, green chili, lettuce, and potatoes. It could easily feed an entire family (or one really hungry individual).
