5.National Park Service
Although we’re disappointed that Minnesota’s awesome state park system doesn’t offer a senior discount, we’re tickled pink that we can get a lifetime pass to national parks—and all other federal monuments, forests, and recreation areas—for the price of a normal annual pass. In Minnesota, this grants access to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, Voyageurs National Park, Pipestone National Monument, the Mississippi and St. Croix Riverways, the Superior and Chippewa National Forests, along with a handful of other national wildlife refuges and recreation areas.
6.Rochester Community and Technical College, Rochester, MN
Seniors aged 62 or over, and who meet all admission criteria, can attend Rochester Community and Technical College—or any other college in the state system—tuition free. There are some associated fees and costs that are not free, but if you’re thinking of getting another degree or learning something new, this is a great way to do it.
