A mid-day event in the state's capital city, the St. Paul St. Patrick's Day parade is the largest such celebration in Minnesota. Thousands leave work and skip school to don green and line the downtown streets every March 17 unless it falls on a Holy Day or a Sunday. If you're more into history than size, New Ulm boasts the longest-running St. Patrick's Day parade in the state on the same date, of course.
