For novices and experts alike, Kansas has a skate park to please just about any skill level. Home to 12,000-square-foot facilities and open-space parks for street-style skaters looking to refine their moves, Kansas is a prime place to skate. Here are the 10 best skate parks in the state.  


Mouse Trap Skateboard Park, Topeka, KS

This park offers youth and adult skateboarders a great place to practice their skills or just enjoy the track. A 10,000-square foot lighted facility welcomes skateboarders of any skill level.

Derby Skate Park, Derby, KS

The perfect solution for Derby’s street skateboarders was the creation of The Derby Skate Park. The park offers stairs, rails, banks, a wide four-foot deep bowl along with restrooms, plenty of parking and lights for night skateboarding.

Wichita Skatepark, Wichita, KS

Located in downtown Wichita, the Wichita Skatepark is a skateboard "destination" park. The skate park is under an overpass and all-concrete. Prominent skate park designer, Wally Hollyday, designed the 12,000 square-foot park, which highlights a three-bowl skate zone, four concrete ramps, stairs, handrails and ledges. 

Skatepark at Centennial Park, Lawrence, KS

This park is located at 600 Rockledge Road and was originally designed by skate boarders. Over 12,000 square feet, this park is still a fun and challenging street course, that offers half pipe, pyramids, grind rail, fun box, and quarter pipe.

Skatepark at Deerfield Park, Lawrence, KS

The skate park at Deerfield Park is located at 2901 Princeton Boulevard, and welcomes skateboarders the opportunity to practice moves and develop skills in a smaller, 6,000 square foot venue. 

Skatepark at Holcom Park, Lawrence, KS

Another Lawrence gem, this skate park in Holcom Park is located at 2601 West. 25th Street, and is intended for the beginning skateboarders. But all levels of skateboarders will enjoy discovering the tricks and rides this park offers.

Two Trails Skate Park, Olathe, KS

This Skate Park is part of the Two Trails Park and features a challenging skateboard park with plenty of ramps and rails. It is never too crowded, which makes it a great skate park for beginners. 

Penn Valley Skate Park, Kansas City, KS

Opened in 2006 and expanded in 2012 this skateboard park features ledges, stairs, banks, quarter pipes, a clamshell mid-section, a picnic table, a hip, and a 10-foot deep huge bowl. An incredible park for the more experienced skateboarders, and a great place for anyone to spend time watching skaters do amazing acrobatics on their boards.  

Tedesco Memorial Skatepark, Fort Scott, KS

Opened in 2012 and expanded in 2014, this skate park is a first class, open to the public, concrete skate park for all skill levels. The recent expansion added to the street-style atmosphere and added several new features, and opened an area for younger, beginning skaters. 

Prairie Village Skatepark, Prairie Village, KS

In 2001, two eighth-grade boys started collecting money to build a skate park in Prairie Village, and because of their efforts and donations collected, the skate park opened in 2005. Each year hundreds of kids continue to enjoy the dips, curves, and turns this skateboard park offers.
