Earth Day is an annual event celebrated on April 22 worldwide to demonstrate support for environmental protection. 1.Party on the Planet, Sedgwick County Zoo, Wichita, KS
Everyone is invited to Sedgwick County Zoo’s “Party for the Planet” event. Hosted two days before the traditional Earth Day, party goers will participate through “hands-on” activities and inter-active exhibits and learn how to take care of our planet. The day’s activities are focused on elementary students, but adults will enjoy the event activities too. Admission is free.
2.Earth Day Parade & Celebration, Lawrence, KS
Lawrence, Kansas’ Annual Earth Day Parade & Celebration is a can’t-miss event. Come celebrate sustainable living, learn how to create your own compost and pick up tips on recycling. 3.Earth Day/Arbor Day Celebration, Gardner, KS
Come celebrate Earth Day, Saturday, April 22, with the Gardner Parks and Recreation Department. Everyone is asked to join in a group clean-up of the Gardner Greenway Corridor. This fair is an annual event and a collaboration between the Prairie Village Environment Committee and the Prairie Valley Recycle Committee held at Shawnee Mission East High School. The community of Overland Park, Kansas is celebrating Earth Day by hosing another Recycling Extravaganza. Local community members are urged to recycle various materials on Earth Day.
