Fear Asylum Haunted House
216 6th Street West, Brookings, SD
Fear Asylum
The patients are restless, and that’s putting it mildly.
The seemingly now abandoned Brookend Asylum has been overturned by the patients who have come to realize they’re not the only demented and twisted ones onsite; the doctors they thought were there to help them have ulterior agendas. The newly unearthed government funded C.E.C. – Covert Experimentation Center is where the facility staff has been taking unwitting patients turned test subjects for years. The C.E.C. is packed with the most vile, disturbing, mutilated creatures not even your worst nightmares could concoct. But how does all of this terror and horror go unnoticed? The avaricious caretaker of the Asylum’s graveyard takes no issue with hiding the failed experiments amongst the numerous headstones.

About the Jaycees Feargrounds
The Jaycees Feargrounds is the Sioux Falls Jaycees’ haunted house project, and the largest fundraiser and volunteer driver for the Sioux Falls Jaycees chapter. The haunted house is located at the W.H Lyons Fairgrounds, and is open to the community every year in October.
The Sioux Falls Jaycees have run their Haunted House project since 1974. There have been many different versions of the haunt throughout its history, and currently exists as a 6,000-square-foot haunted house in the Fine Arts building on the fairgrounds. Previously known as the Sioux Falls Jaycees Haunted House, the haunted house rebranded as the Jaycees Feargrounds in 2019 as an effort to give the haunt a unique identity and keep the project relevant in today’s haunted attractions industry.
We Are A Fundraiser!

Terror in the Dark Haunted House
800 San Francisco Street, Rapid City, SD
About Us:
Though we like to hang around in cemeteries a lot, we're still a pretty lively bunch. Terror in the Dark is designed as a Halloween activity for middle school, high school, and college students to provide alternative entertainment during the Halloween season. Our mission is to encourage and support youth programs and education financially.
Terror in the Dark Haunted House is a non-profit organization. Eighty percent of profits raised by our events is contributed to children-related programs in Rapid City, SD. The rest is retained for the support of future fund raisers.
Since 1998 Terror in the Dark has been a Halloween event teens and grown-ups alike have looked forward to every year. Founded by members from the Black Hills Renaissance Society (BHRS), the original intention of the haunted house was to gather funds for a renaissance faire for the Black Hills Area. Little did the members of BHRS know what a hit and how much fun putting on the haunted house would be.
Today our volunteers are a diverse mix of people, a couple who have been doing this since day one and some who are brand new. We all have one common interest in mind, and that's making the Halloween season as much fun as possible for kids and adults alike!
