About Us
The principals of Greendance were running parallel courses toward opening a winery and lived within miles of each other without even meeting. The Lynns, Susan and Rick, and the Schillings, Amy and Rob, produced gourmet small fruits for wholesalers, retailers, restaurants and have even supplied the White House with gooseberries, currants, and golden raspberries for two state dinners. Gradually they began to recognize that the highest use of their small fruits was pure fruit wines, and that their expertise in cultural practices would accommodate production of quality hybrid vinifera grapes to provide a full spectrum of wines. Although the new winery was planned for six years, it was stalled by the demands of fruit growing and various regulatory issues. During the final development, the Sand Hill Berries partners discovered Walter and Roxanne Vinoski. The Vinoski family has been making wine and growing grapes for years. Walt had carried forth that tradition with a zeal for quality using both his family experience and his analytical and technical abilities as an engineer. Because of their dedication and award-winning success as private enologists, the Vinoskis envisioned a winery to make their passion available for all to appreciate. Thus, in the late winter of 2007, Greendance - The Winery at Sand Hill was consummated and opened in September of that year.

We are honored to have a part in restoring a beautiful late 19th century barn which for years had been used as a cider mill. In 1921 the barn and property which consists of apple orchards and vineyards was purchased by Frank Shultz who had recently returned from WWI in good health and a vivid memory of a beautiful castle he had seen along the rolling hills of England. The castle was called Arundel which he promptly had painted on the side of his newly acquired barn along with his business name, Shultz Farm.  The cider mill operated for three generations and in 2012, the farm was purchased by us, the new 'Arundel Family'. Like Grandpa Shultz, we too were enamoured by the castle theme and since this once majestic barn and property represented our 'castle', we thought it appropriate to keep his memory alive by naming our new business Arundel Cellars and Brewing Co.
The restoration of the orchards and vineyards began in May 2012 and after reviewing many plans and dealing with a few obstacles, the restoration of our barn began in December 2012.Â
Deer Creek Winery - Robinson Mall
100 Robinson Center Driv, Pittsburgh, PA
Opening Deer Creek Winery was a risk. We were in the middle of the Great Recession, and we started out specializing in fruit wine rather than more recognizable wine varieties. But our family had owned this land for five generations—we knew that our farm already produced the finest raspberries available, and we knew that we could grow something amazing here.
Fractured Grape Wine Cellars
138 S Market St, New Wilmington, PA
Walter “Walt” and Katie Novosel, born and raised in Mercer County, now living in Lawrence County, are co-owners of Nova Destinations. The idea of Nova Destinations was born when Walt traveled to Presque Isle, PA with his Uncle Dave to pick up grapes. Uncle Dave made homemade wine for years and wanted to share his passion with his nephew Walt. Around the same time, Katie had to complete an orthopedic medical school rotation in Riverside California, near LA, and Walt had the opportunity to visit for the weekend. They visited the wine region of Temecula, California and instantly fell in love with the atmosphere. In the Napa region, Temecula wineries offer couples and families the opportunity to sit, relax with a glass of wine, breathe in the beautiful atmosphere, all while allowing your kids to run and enjoy. It was then that Walter knew he wanted to bring this kind of experience and atmosphere back to families in the local community.

CrossWinds Winery
621 Hershey Rd, Hummelstown, PA
It starts out as one you've heard before...we have the usual family farm, that's been the family for generations. Our vineyard in Juniata County is very mature, planted in the early 1990's. We may be a new winery, but our grapes have produced some very fine wines. This is where our story takes a twist. Linda and I are both pilots and we built an airport in the vineyard (Jansen Vineyards, PN71, for you pilots out there). What better way to check on the grapes than flying low over the grapes and landing along side our apple orchard! You'll see this aviation theme carried throughout our name, our labeling, and even the decor of the winery.
