One of the best things about spring is fresh asparagus, spring lettuces and strawberries picked straight off the vine. If you don’t have a green thumb or space to have your own garden, check out one of these 9 best farmers markets in Oklahoma where you’ll find produce grown right in the state. Eating local tastes better. 


Farmers Market at Scissortail Park, Oklahoma City, OK

You only find fruits and vegetables in season when you shop here, but vendors also offer dairy products, meat and poultry and baked items. Everything sold here is grown or made in Oklahoma. Many of the products are certified organic. Vendors only accept cash or check, but SNAP benefits are accepted. 

Tulsa Farmers Market, Tulsa, OK

Cherry Street Farmers Market is only open from April through October, but the Brookside Market is open through the winter. The Tulsa Farmers Market keeps it local. All the vendors and farmers are 100 percent Oklahoma Grown certified. Debit cards can be used at the market manager’s booth, and SNAP benefits are accepted. 

Edmond Farmers Market, Edmond, OK

Come downtown to Edmond for great local produce, dairy, meats and flowers. The Saturday market opens in April. Beginning in June, there’s also a Wednesday market at Mitch Park. 

Stillwater Farmers Market, Stillwater, OK

Stillwater takes local produce one step closer, because all market vendors are required to grow or produce their products in Payne County or one of the five surrounding counties. Check the website for times and locations, but there is a winter market open on Saturdays. 

Ada Farmers Market, Ada, OK

Don’t worry about the weather, because even when it rains, the Ada Farmers Market is always open on Tuesdays. The season runs June through October, and along with high quality produce and farm products, local artisans bring specialty products for sale. There’s always plenty of entertainment and activities for the entire family. 

Bartlesville Farmers Market, Bartlesville, OK

The Bartlesville season runs May through mid-October. It’s in its tenth season, and you can find upwards of 1,000 people or more at the market each week. Support the local farmers of eastern Oklahoma when you come out to get some great-tasting produce and farm products. Entertainment and children’s activities are usually available.  

Guymon Farmers Market, Guymon, OK

The Guymon Farmers Market is only open July through September on Saturdays, but you’ll find fresh eggs, watermelon, honey and fresh-cut flowers at this market in the panhandle of Oklahoma. 

Lawton Farmers Market, Lawton, OK

The Lawton Farmers Market was one of three markets featured in the Oklahoma Nutrition Information & Education Project. The spring market opens in April, and you’ll want to watch their website to sign up for workshops and classes. 

Norman Farm Market, Norman, OK

According to the Facebook page, the Norman Farm Market is the oldest farm market in Oklahoma still in business. The season kicks off on the first Saturday in April and runs through October. Every Tuesday and Saturday you can find delicious, fresh produce and support local growers.
