Brotherhood Winery
100 Brotherhood Plaza Drive, Washingtonville, NY
Open:Â April-December
Brotherhood Winery's Greendale Farm is located in the town of Hudson, in the heart of the Hudson Valley Region. The area is famed for its sweeping views of the Catskill Mountains and the Rip Van Winkle Bridge. It is also home to Olana, a Persian-style dream castle belonging to Hudson River School painter, Frederic Church.
The farm is on a one hundred acre plot of land that gradually slopes down towards the Hudson River, which allows for ideal drainage and wind flow for grape production. The nearby river also creates a microclimate on the farm that tempers the harsh and varied climactic conditions in New York.
Soil also plays a decisive role in the quality of our wines, giving them their basic characteristics. The soil in the Hudson River region is largely formed from glacial deposits of shale, slate, schist and limestone. The quality of the fruit is better, although yields are usually lower, on soils like this, limited in depth by hardpan, rocks or clay substrata. Less fertile soil such as this is especially good for growing premium quality Varietal grapes whereas American grapes such as Concord and Niagara cannot tolerate the limestone.
Growing grapes in New York is a challenge for any viticulturist. Proper choice of grape variety matched to the right rootstock, planting, pruning, training, protecting the vines from animals (ex. deer), birds, insects (ex. Japanese Beetles), disease (ex. mildew), is just the beginning.
Nostrano Vineyards
14 Gala Ln, Milton, NY
Open: Year-Round
With a four generation history of fruit growing in New York's Hudson Valley, Nostrano Vineyards is among the newest grape producers. But don't let the newness fool you. Grape and tree-fruit growing has been a tradition of the Trapani family since 1943 when Joseph and Ben established J&B Trapani Fruit Growers.
The farm originally raised nearly 120 acres of grapes, apples, pears along with raspberries, currants and cherries. Joe and Ben Trapani were known for producing high quality fruit and after their passing in the 1990's, Joseph's son, Joseph Jr. continued this family tradition. Today, JB Trapani is one of the New York Hudson Valley's oldest, continuously family owned and operated fruit farm. Seventy years after Benjamin Trapani moved his family from Brooklyn, the farming tradition is continuing to the fourth generation as Joseph Sr.'s grandson, Nicolas Bozzo, established Nostrano Vineyards on the family farm in 2010.

Clearview Vineyard and Winery
35 Clearview Lane, Warwick, NY
Clearview Vineyard History:
Karen decided it was time for a change, so we started looking for farm property in 2003. We were living in Millwood, New York a beautiful but expensive area in Northern Westchester and not one where we could afford to buy ten or more acres. At first we started looking in Northern Dutchess and Southern Columbia Counties, but could not find just the right property. Then we started looking in Orange County and after about four months finally found our new home in Warwick.
We moved in on October 2, 2004 and Karen decided it was a great property for growing grapes. We invited Steven McKay, the Small Fruit & Grapes Extension Educator from Cornell Cooperative Extension to visit our property and give us some advice. After taking dirt core samples and having them evaluated, it became apparent that this was an ideal site for grape vines.
Warwick Valley Winery And Distillery
114 Little York Road, Warwick, NY
We are farmers, business people, career builders, and first job creators. We are risk-takers, trailblazers, and memory makers. We have a fanatical obsession with horticulture, culinary arts, spirits, wine, cider, apples, music, and fun. We are land stewards, students, and educators. We’ve watched generations of employees grow up on our farm, many of whom are still with us. We are eternally grateful to everyone that helped us along our way.
In 1990, we started growing apple trees. Today, we have one of the most diverse pick your own orchards on the east coast with over 65 heirloom and modern apple varieties.
In 1994, we created Doc’s Cider. We are the oldest cidery in New York State. We made and sold cider from real fruit decades before there was a craft cider industry. Today, our cider is distributed in 28 states and 3 countries.
In 1995, we hosted our first Bob Dylan Tribute Festival. Ever since then, we’ve had live music every weekend and multiple music festivals each year.
In 1998, we built our cafe. It has grown over time, but the premise of making food from scratch with locally sourced, farm-grown ingredients has never changed.
In 2001, we helped kick off the craft spirits movement through applying and receiving a grant to become the 1st craft distillery in NYS since prohibition. We started by making fruit brandies, liqueurs, and cordials under the name, American Fruits.
In 2012, we built the largest craft distillery on the east coast, Black Dirt Distillery.
After nearly 30 years on this farm, we remain a tight-knit group of family and friends that are forever humbled by the support of our customers who return to us year after year.

Martha Clara Vineyards
6025 Sound Avenue, Riverhead, NY
Open: Year Round
In 1978, The Entenmann Family agree to sell their family company and move on to greener pastures. One of Martha Clara's sons, Robert Entenmann, purchased a potato farm and transformed it into a thoroughbred horse farm on the North Fork of Long Island. Throughout the years he enjoyed his horses and the beauty of the area. However, he couldn't help but notice the changing landscape all around him. The neighboring potato farms began to give way to vineyards; it was just a matter of time before he would follow suit.
In 1995, Robert caught the grape bug and planted 18 acres of vitis vinifera grapes. Over the next four years his vineyard acreage grew to over 100 acres as he anxiously waited for the grapes to come to age.
Robert Entenmann, owner of Martha Clara Vineyards, named the venture after his mother, Martha Clara Entenmann.

Bedell has been owned since 2000 by Michael Lynne, an esteemed art collector and film executive who was Executive Producer of The Lord of the Rings trilogy among many others. The business has been led for the past 10 years by its CEO Trent Preszler, a Cornell graduate considered to be one of the most ambitious leaders in the New York wine industry, who also serves on the Board of Directors of WineAmerica. Bedell's Winemaker, 30-year veteran Rich Olsen-Harbich, wrote the North Fork of Long Island appellation into existence in 1986, and is the only Winemaker in Eastern North America to use entirely indigenous yeasts as part of a holistic natural winemaking program. Complementing this 30-year tradition with a critically acclaimed Artist Series, dynamic management team, and some of the oldest grapevines in the region, Bedell exists at the forefront of creativity and excellence in the modern American wine industry.Â
The Bedell facility is unmatched regionally for its sophistication. The new state-of-the-art winery was completed in 2005 and boasts custom designed open-top fermenting tanks and a gravity-driven regime to minimize pumping and filtering. The Tasting Room is housed in a renovated potato barn originally built in 1919, and it showcases the world class contemporary art collection of owner Michael Lynne, featuring works over the past decade by Cindy Sherman, Chuck Close, Barbara Kruger, Eric Fischl, Sam Taylor Wood, Uta Barth and Sarah Morris. An outdoor grand tasting pavilion was recently completed, offering visitors a sweeping view of hundreds of acres of vineyards and open farmland.
The wines of Bedell and Corey Creek are made from grapes grown sustainably on the three vineyard sites totaling 80 planted acres: Bedell Cellars in Cutchogue; Corey Creek Vineyards in Southold; and Wells Road Vineyard in Peconic. Bedell's vines are among the oldest in the region and have set deep roots in an ancestral glacial plain of silt loam and sandy gravel. These soils, along with the vineyards' proximity to the moderating influence of Long Island Sound and Peconic Bay, form our unique maritime terroir.

It was the dream of our founder, Dr. Herodotus "Dan" Damianos, that helped create the winemaking industry on Long Island in the early 1980's. And that dream has, over nearly 30 years, turned Pindar Vineyards into Long Island's best-known wine producer.
Today Pindar Vineyards encompasses more than 500 scenic acres. We grow 17 varieties of grapes, crafting them into some 23 varietals and proprietary blends. We produce 70,000 cases of wine a year, making us the largest vineyard on Long Island. But at heart we are still a family with a personal touch in every aspect of our business.
Pindar Vineyards is a labor of love for Dr. Dan and his family. Dr. Dan's wife of over 40 years, Barbara, is an invaluable member of the business, spearheading charity efforts, working in the tasting room, and helping promote the wines to restaurants and other venues across Long Island. The three Damianos sons are respected winemakers in their own right: Alexander is owner and general manager Duck Walk Vineyards, Jason has launched his own vineyard, Jason's Vineyard, and Pindar is Director of Vineyard Management at the winery that shares his name. Dr. Dan's daughters, too, are actively involved in making Pindar Vineyards what it is today: Alethea is a key administrator in the business office and also works in the tasting rooms, while Eurydice promotes branding initiatives in her hometown -- New York City -- while maintaining her own medical practice.
Accompanied by his wife and children, Dr. Dan continues to dream, constantly striving to make Pindar Vineyards wines unique and unrivaled in their quality. We invite you to share the dream by enjoying a glass of our wine.
