Terror Field
7 Columbia Street, Clyde, NY
Our Story
Terror Field Productions started in 1999 with Brandon Struzyk and Gary Larizza in a small carport that boasted a completely huge four rooms.
The reality of doing a haunted house was slim, but light was shining down on us. Brandon's Grandfather who always believed in him and thought he was the center of his universe, passed away from kidney failure. The day of his funeral, we started to build Terror Field to keep Brandon's mind off the subject. "This is why I put so much effort into Terror Field because I know my grandfather would be proud. I also love to see people being entertained and scared, the screams, the scared looks, and then the happiness for when it is over. Not to mention Halloween has always been my favorite time of year." Brandon remarked.
With just the word of mouth and running only Halloween night the little haunt that took only two minutes to go through, brought in about a hundred people.
In 2000, we utilized a three-acre lot of woods with a structure set in the dead middle. We carved trails through the woods and used nature to offer its own spookiness amid the moon light and the building to create a 10-minute adventure. Again, with no real advertisement, just a web site and a posting on Hauntworld.com and senecafallsonline.com we drew visitors from 30 minutes away and had a few hundred people for the four nights we ran.
2002 Terror Field took over a 30' X 40' garage on Butler Ave in Seneca Falls owned by William Struzyk. We maze out this space created a 10-minute haunt. This time we advertised with a few posters around town, our website, post on hauntworld.com and senecafallsonline.com, and brought in a few hundred patrons to the free haunt. Over the next few years, we created our own props, animatronics and scenes. For several years, we utilized this same space and saw attendance consecutively grow while maintaining a strong repetitive customer base. We also asked for donations for a 10-month-old little girl named Sarah Miller who we had heard of having Leukemia. Terror Field raised $600 for that little girl and reunited with her a few years latter for her second birthday presenting her with a build-a-Bear and hearing of her positive health condition brought a lot of joy to the Terror Field Family.
After a two-year hiatus, we did a small home haunt in Waterloo, but still looked for the perfect spot to Launch a professional Haunt.
2013 - Abandoned Taylor House In Lyons, NY (Also the old Lyons community Center). The Taylor House which was once a Mansion to the Founder of United States Steal and After retiring from business in 1938, Taylor was sent by President Franklin D. Roosevelt to a refugee conference in Évian-les-Bains, France, as head of the American delegation. Here we grew our production with state-of-the-art effects, props and scares
2017 Terror Field sadly lost the Lyons Lease and we scrambled to purchase a new building and get it inspected by the state. Terror Field then purchased property in Clyde, NY and worked on our detail sets. Within two years we became a top 10 Haunted Attraction in New York State.
All this work was done just for Halloween, but because of Facebook and word of mouth, lines would wrap around the block for the best show in town and we had to grow to meet demand.
Tagsylvania
3037 State Route 352, Big Flats, NY
In 1740 Atsingnetsing was a quiet village located in what today is known as Big Flats. With just 147 residents it was a wonderful place to live; that is until October 31st of that year. It was reported by the lone survivor at the time that a strange thick fog encompassed the village and the residents were possessed by beings with an uncontrollable craving for blood…
They terrorized each other in ways far beyond comprehension of the normal mind. By the stroke of midnight on that fateful night Atsingnetsing was renamed Tagsylvania by the neighboring town folks as the town appeared to have been overtaken by some type of otherworldly creatures.
The 1 lone survivor had a story so bizarre, no one would have believed it but for the evidence that lay everywhere within the town. A virus or an evil beyond mere comprehension – no one will everknow. What we do know is that every fall a thick fog begins to rise from the swamp behind Tag’s. Within that fog resides something that possesses all those in its path – and the residents of Tagsylvania seem to return to replay the night of their untimely demise…

Burn Brae Mansion
573 High Road, Glen Spey, NY
Burn Brae Mansion was built in 1907 by Margaret Ross MacKenzie Elkin as part of the estate of George Ross MackKenzie, third president of the Singer Sewing Machine company, who made his fortune as confidant and advisor to Isaac Merritt Singer, the company's founder.
Upon George's death in 1892, with an estate valued at $3.5 million, seven of his children built elaborate summer mansions in Glen Spey. Margaret and her husband Charles Elkin built Burn Brae Mansion as the last family mansion and one of only three still surviving. It is believed that the house was designed by prominent architect Henry J. Hardenberg, who worked on a number of projects for Singer executives.
Margaret continued her father's tradition of donating to many charities, and she enjoyed throwing lavish parties. She outlived several of her children, as did her parents, including her daughter Elsey, named for her grandmother, who died at 9; her namesake Margaret; Charles Jr. who died at 34; and grandbaby Levi, who died upon birth.
Charles Elkin was an engineer and inventor and held several patents including the Elkin Hose Clamp and for the mouthpieces on pipes and cigars. He also had a spring water bottling works behind the mansion near the woods. He was an accomplished organist.
Burn Brae Mansion has had five owners since the Elkins, and over the years it has served as a boarding house, a tea room during prohibition, and a bed and breakfast. The current owners, Mike and Pat Fraysse, have lovingly restored the character of the home and brought back many of the original elements. They currently operate the house as a bed and breakfast, along with a 12-room motel on the site of the former horse stables.
At least the last two owners - whose combined ownership spans more than four decades - and their guests, have reported unexplained occurrences, such as doors opening and slamming, children's voices, balls bouncing, and the apparitions of a woman in white, a man in turn of the century clothing, and a more modern man in overalls. Visitors also often report the sounds of animals when no animals are present and the distinct sound of an organ playing, when there is no organ in the house.
More recently, an elderly couple in their 90s, the Hapijs, both died in the house. Guests say that they can still see them from the front yard playing chess by the big window, hear his classical music and smell her daily baking.
