With a nod to her British roots, owner Pat Grah named her antique store after a street in Liverpool, England that was subsequently made famous in song by The Beatles. Since 2012, it has won “Best of Clovis” in the antique store category due in large part to the vast selection of vintage items, furniture, collectibles, boutique clothing and accessories, jewelry and, a top seller, British candy and groceries. Step inside this quaint, adobe covered abode and experience the owner’s aspiration to create a place where time travel meets treasure hunt. An expertise in Navajo antiquities, built during a 50-plus year career, has helped make owner Bill Malone a legend in Native American trading. His small store in the city’s downtown section specializes in Native American arts and crafts including Navajo rugs, Kachinas, pottery, jewelry where the old is interspersed with the contemporary. And the old is breathtaking—many of the rugs are hundreds of years old and still in flawless condition thanks to Malone’s well-established know-ledge on how to care for these treasures, an expertness he is willing to share. Malone’s an honest and helpful trader with a tightly-packed store filled from a life-time of collecting.

The turquoise-trimmed building that’s anchored a corner of the historic Old Town Plaza for more than 20 years is one of the town’s oldest antique shops. This multi-dealer shop has something for every collector from fine antiques to furniture to tchotchkes, souvenir postcards, western collectibles, vintage jewelry and old memorabilia. You’d be hard-pressed not to find what you’re looking for here—it has a large number of vendors that offer up a little bit of everything for all ages and all styles. Located in the heart of downtown, it’s chock-full of great finds: Vaseline and de-pression glass, western bits and pieces, pottery, fine china, books, postcards, old toys, linens, magazines, restored American antique furniture and costume, sterling silver and Native American jewelry. A great place to hunt for that missing piece in any collection.
The Emporium Vintage and Fine Furnishings, Las Cruces, NM
