River Horse Brewing Company
2 Graphics Drive, Ewing, NJ
You don't have to be in a dead end job to feel like you aren't going anywhere. That's the way we felt before River Horse. We were finance geeks living in a world without soul. Grinding it out everyday for a fee, wearing suits and kissing ****.
Then this brewery chose us...she forced us to ask ourselves, "Is this desk job really how I pictured my life?" We answered that question by taking over River Horse in 2007 and have not looked back. We may not end up as the greatest success story on earth, but at least we had the balls to try. Sometimes, for better or worse, your dreams get the best of you.
Conclave Brewing Company

Long Valley Pub And Brewery
1 Fairmount Road, Long Valley, NJ
The Owners and the Property
In 1771, a German Settler name Trimmer built a large stone barn for his dairy cows and hay. He mortared the stones with clay, lime, and horsehair. The property remained a dairy farm until the 1940's when themilk control board began to regulate prices of milk. As a result, many dairy framers sold their cows and bought milk in New York and Pennsylvania. In 1965, the barn and six acres were sold to Jack Borgenicht. Work began to transform the barn into a brew pub in January 1995. An attempt was made to keep everything as original as possible. The hand-hewn timbers were preserved and all the window openings are original. Ownership was transferred in 2010 and many new improvements have been made to the property as we continue to grow into Restaurant Village. Ownership was transferred to Steve and Andrea Bussel in 2010.
The Barn
As far as anyone can determine, the stonewalls of the pub were erected around 1771 by German immigrants. The original structure was a classic bank barn with what is now the main entrance being the bank or upper entrance. The original upper floor of the structure was used as a hay barn. The upper floor was originally vaulted. What is now the upstairs was non-existent. Livestock were probably kept on the ground floor where the kitchen is now.
The Renovation
The building was renovated in 1995 having been in complete disrepair. As much of the original beams as possible are visible in the framing on the upper floors. The main entrance and brewery were added onto the original structure during the renovations. Many people remember a sawmill in association with the buildings past. The sawmill was a separate building located next to the barn that is now the Brew Pub. The sawmill was dismantled during the renovation.

Flying Fish Brewing Company
900 Kennedy Blvd, Somerdale, NJ
When Gene Muller founded Flying Fish Brewing Co. in 1995, he did so first on the World Wide Web - making it the world's first virtual microbrewery. That early Web site helped generate positive press coverage and helped attract the investors needed to make the virtual brewery a real one. Muller said the idea was to make the Web site "This Old House meets the World Wide Web" letting people go behind the taps and see the thousands of details needed to put a craft brewery together.
Flying Fish is located in Somerdale, New Jersey. In a state that once boasted 50 breweries (and by the end of 2015 may once again boast that number), it was the first microbrewery in Southern New Jersey and the first new brewery built in that part of the state in more than half a century. From its opening in late 1996, Flying Fish has increased its capacity more than 20x and become the largest of the ever-growing number of craft breweries in the state.
Coho Brewing
28 Indian Trail Rd #103, Cape May Court House, NJ
A dream that was started with her husband's love for craft beer.......
Karen Buckingham decided instead of retirement why not start a business?
Buckingham and her husband went to Wildwood High where they were high school sweethearts, but now live in Cape May Court House. Their love for life and having a good time sparked the idea for a new business venture in the still-growing craft beer industry.
She searched for months for the perfect location for the brewery in their hometown. She finally found the perfect location on Indian Trail Road. Right off of route 9, and on a major road into the Wildwoods, the location is easy to access for locals and tourists alike.
Buckingham and her husband have extensive experience in the hospitality industry, and although recently retired she spent the last 4 years teaching in local schools. Retirement didn’t really suit her because she’s always seeking something fun and exciting to do. Buckingham is extremely excited about the launch of COHO Brewing Co.
The name COHO came about because of its location in COurt HOuse and as homage to the Court House/Legal theme of the brewery. COHO will feature unique beers in a very relaxed environment focused on customer experience. At COHO, we strive to not only bring you outstanding beers, but make your entire experience memorable.
Behr Brewing
513 Seashore Rd, Cape May, NJ
Behr Brewing starts in 2010 when Steven fell in love with Catherine. For Christmas that year Catherine gave Steven a home brew kit that would unknowingly change their lives. The first batch of beer they brewed came out great, and they were eager to brew again. The next batch of beer wasn't so great and because of that it set off a chain reaction of learning to figure out how to make the perfect pint.
Throughout the years the love between Catherine and Steven grew and so did their equipment. Building a two tier brew stand and bigger pots with pumps and hoses ment that cleaning bottles in the bathtub was no longer an option and kegging equipment became a necessity. To pour all of this beer a chest freezer was converted into a kegerator and friends and family would enjoy the home made beer during all of the BBQ’s and holiday parties. Looking for like minded homebrewers they were founding members of Cape May Brewers Guild, New Jersey's most southern homebrew club.
After years of brewing Catherine and Steven decided to open a brewery of their own. After a year of writing a business plan, two years to secure financing and purchase the property, and another two years of construction and licensing their dreams finally came to fruition. Behr Brewing is lovingly named after Catherine Behrens, whose husband now calls her Momma Behr.
