HISTORY
1922
Ward County Fair was held in Minot.
1923
State of North Dakota recognizes The Ward County Fair as one of four regional fairs for state aid. Record attendance of 18,000.
1936
The "North Dakota State Fair" was adopted.
1965
Officially sanctioned by the state government, 1965 followed by the first official North Dakota State Fair in Minot, ND in 1966.
2010
The new Grandstand was built and has hosted many legendary acts such as, Miranda Lambert, KISS, Lynard Skynard, and many more!
2011
Fair was cancelled due to the Souris River flood which left much of the fairgrounds and Minot underwater.
2023
The North Dakota State Fair breaks record attendance with 356,534 2023 fairgoers over the 9-day event!
