Even though the sign on the door says that Dan’s opens at 1 a.m., there is always a line down the block beginning at midnight, if not sooner. Dan’s is the place to go in Kokomo for a non-traditional breakfast. Try the buttercream filled doughnuts! You won’t be disappointed!
Frittata’s Restaurant, Kokomo, IN
If in the mood for a more traditional breakfast, another well-known place in Kokomo is Frittata’s Restaurant. The restaurant is family owned and operated, and the food completely homemade. Because of its popularity, on any given day the parking lot is full and there is sometimes a waiting period of about 10 minutes. But the food is absolutely worth the wait! Ask your waiter or waitress for the special of the day!
Dutch Café, Peru, IN
When asked where the best place is to find a good breakfast close to Kokomo, the automatic answer is the Dutch Café in Peru, Indiana. It might be 45 minutes north of Kokomo, but the drive is worth it for a delicious, home cooked breakfast. Not sure what to get? Try the Country Sampler, which has biscuits and gravy, eggs, hash browns, one hot cake, and served with homemade toast. The portions are generous here at the Dutch Café, so be sure to ask for a takeout bag on your way out!
3 Sisters Café, Broad Ripple, IN
If you have ever seen the show, “Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives,” 3 Sisters Café might sound familiar. The restaurant was featured in an episode centered on local favorites, and it is easy to see why. The owners are lovely, warm and welcoming, and the food is spot on. The atmosphere is also unique and pleasant. 3 Sisters Café runs their restaurant out of a beautiful, three story Victorian-era home, and it almost feels as if you’ve stepped back in time.
Rosie’s Place, Noblesville, IN
Rosie’s Place is the place to be in breakfast if you ever find yourself in Noblesville, Indiana. Located in the heart of downtown Noblesville, Rosie’s is another local favorite. Erika’s Place, Cicero, IN
Passing through Cicero, Indiana (population <5,000), it might not look like it has much to offer but hidden inside this small town is a great place to stop for breakfast. It’s the place where everybody knows everybody. Think of it as the modern day version of “Cheers,” minus the beer. Erika’s Place is very down to Earth and has a warm vibe to it, as does the legendary Erika herself and her staff. We highly recommend the Greek omelet!

Warm and quaint, this café is a must stop! Start your day off with Breakfast Bites, fried bite size dough nuggets tossed in cinnamon and sugar and served with a cream toffee sauce. Who doesn’t love a fried doughnut? Feeling like something a bit more filling? Try the Farmhouse or some Oreo Pancakes!
