1.Los Altos Hills, CA
In 2011, Russian billionaire Yuri Milner bought a French chateau style home for $100 million. Now, not far away is a home for sale at $68 million. Dubbed a unique property within driving distance to San Francisco, the address is unlisted.
2.Malibu, CA
Back in 2007, film producer and founder of Jones Apparel Group, Sidney Kimmel purchased late night star Johnny Carson’s Malibu mansion for $46 million. Just recently, he has relisted the glamourous home for nearly double his investment.
3.Bel Air, CA
Earlier this year, an expansive estate in Malibu hit the market with an asking price of $250 million, setting new records in the country. The 38,000-square-foot home includes 12 bedrooms, 21 bathrooms, three kitchens, six bars, a massage room and spa, fitness center, two wine-champagne cellars, an advanced home theater, and a gigantic infinity pool.
4.Rancho Santa Fe, CA
Once the home of a former football player, the original dwelling was demolished to make room for 22,000-square-foot eco-friendly home with high tech features and control panels throughout—including glass stairs and an elevator. The unique architecture and design set records when it hit the market for $45 million in the late summer.

Back in 1936 when it was built, it was the largest home in Los Angeles and has since had a variety of celebrity owners. Now, it seems the home is due for an update and plans for the project are included with the new pricing.

Castello della Costa d'Oro was built by international real estate developer Khosro Khalogh. The home took 14 years to build and seems to be accessible by land, air and sea with a private helipad and dock. Not far from Hearst Castle, the home is close to vineyards and has stunning views of the sea. The asking price is rumored to be $58 million.

Opus, a white and gold mansion in Beverly Hills, recently underwent a price cut of $15 million but at $85 million is still one of the more luxurious homes on the market in California. Palazzo di Amore, or Palace of Love is a massive estate in Beverly Hills. It’s estimated to have a market value of $195 million and rents for nearly half a million each month. Nearby estates generally sell for around $100 million, making it expensive in a super expensive neighborhood.

If you’re a fan of old TV shows, you may recognize this Bel Air estate as the setting of “The Beverly Hillbillies.” Currently on sale for $350 million, it is one of the most expensive listings in the country, surpassing even the $250 million listing that hit the market earlier this year.
10.Santa Barbara, CA
Santa Barbara has lots of famous homeowners but Rancho Dos Pueblos is still pricy, even for this neighborhood. Hitting the market at $50 million, the asking price has dropped slightly. The historic home was built in 1920 and rumored to be the locale of two Chumash Indian villages, hence the name.
