For the second year, the Civil-Military Innovation Institute (CMI2) is teaming up with the Town of Clay for an Independence Day Celebration.
The 2024 celebration will begin at 4:00 p.m. (EDT) on Saturday, July 6, in downtown Clay and will include live entertainment, food vendors, and fireworks after dark.
“We are grateful to CMI2 for their partnership,” said Mayor Jason Hubbard. “We look forward to this Independence Day Event as a testament to our shared commitment to celebrating our nation’s freedom.”
In 2022, CMI2 first invested in Clay County. Since then, the company has announced an expansion and moved to a larger area in Lizemores to establish a one-of-a-kind experimentation facility. The facility benefits Soldiers and individuals developing defense and military technologies and offers hands-on, real-world training experiences for first responders.
“We are committed to Clay County and excited to partner with the Town of Clay on an Independence Day celebration again this year,” said Dr. Zenovy Wowczuk, founder of CMI2. “The work we do throughout the country and the State of West Virginia, especially at our Adaptive Experimentation Facility at Fort Andrew in Lizemores, is a commitment to our warfighters to keep America the land of the free. It is fitting that we should all gather to celebrate America together.”
The Town of Clay Independence Day Celebration presented by CMI2 is free to the public.
