A five-day mountaintop gathering of musicians and friends with contests, concerts, workshops, square dances, camping and vendors. Old time Appalachian music is presented to an audience of more than 3000 musicians and string band music lovers of all ages. The festival attracts visitors and participants from all around the world including all 50 states and more than 20 foreign countries.
Schedule of Events:
9-10am: Daily Contest Registration (youth 17 and under) (open – all ages) - Information Tent
10:30am: Lineup announced to Neo-Traditional Band Registrants - Information Tent
11am: Youth Neo-Traditional Band Contest – Awards to follow contest - Outdoor Stage
11am: Stretching for Musicians hosted by Lucy Allen - Picnic Shelter
Noon: Neo-Traditional Band Contest - Outdoor Stage
1-2pm: Master’s Showcase w/ 2023 Grand Master Fiddler Champion Tessa McCoy - Chestnut Lodge
5pm: Neo-Traditional Band Finals and Awards - Outdoor Stage
8-9pm: Concert - Band: “The Shoats” with Mary Linscheid - Outdoor Stage
8-11pm: Square Dance- Callers: Pete LaBerge & Taylor Runner - Chestnut Lodge
Band: “Allemande”with Chris Germain
