Join members of the Milwaukee Astronomical Society at the opening night of a gallery, at the Schlitz Audobon Nature Center in Bayside, WI, for an opening night talk and exhibit of astrophotography taken by members at the non-profit Milwaukee Astronomical Society, based in New Berlin.

You’re invited to come on out as MAS President and North Central Region of the Astronomical League Region award winner in 2024, talks about how other amateurs in the community acquire astrophotography after dark, and the typical process used to uncover celestial wonders far beyond our galaxy from our skies right here in Wisconsin. Matthew will also talk about how amateur astronomers, and people with day jobs not related to astronomy, are regularly contributing data to help scientists uncover planets from other galaxies, asteroids, comets, and much more.

Afterward, some of the astrophotography will be offered for donation by silent auction, and astrophotographers will be present to talk about their work. Snacks will be available and telescopes will be set up, to discuss with other members of the Milwaukee Astronomical Society on how to get involved in astronomy.

If you like what you see, come on out to visit the Milwaukee Astronomical Society on Friday night for an open house, 10/18/24, 5:30-10:00pm. Details of the event can be found here: https://www.wisconsinsciencefest.org/event/milwaukee-astronomical-society-open-house/
