WaunaBoom - July 4th Family Celebration

Join us in celebrating Independence Day at WaunaBoom in the Village of Waunakee! This free event offers a range of entertainment, including live music, food carts, free family activities, an F-35 flyover by the 115th Fighter Wing at 2:15 pm, and an impressive fireworks display choreographed to music.

​Please note that for everyone's safety, the Waunakee Police Department does not permit fireworks, sparklers, pets, or alcoholic beverages in the park. Only authorized vehicles are allowed in the park on the event day. In case of rain, the event will be rescheduled to July 5th from 4:30 - 10:00 pm.

Entertainment:

2:00 - 5:30 pm: The Breakfast Club

PinSeekers and Livable Communities sponsor The Breakfast Club! This high-energy rock/dance 80s tribute band from Chicago will Moonwalk you down memory lane, singing the greatest hits and wearing their over-the-top attire.

5:00 - 8:40 pm: Movies in the Park

Enjoy free movies and popcorn on the jumbotron at Bishops Bay Country Club's WaunaBoom Theater. Monsters, Inc. (G) runs from 5 to 6:30 pm, and The Incredibles (PG) runs from 6:45 to 8:40 pm.

6:30 - 9:30 pm: Boogie and the Yo-Yoz

Livable Communities and PinSeekers proudly sponsor  Boogie and the YoYoz, the hottest party band in Wisconsin and Iowa. This band is a beloved favorite in Waunakee, and their energetic performances will keep you moving and entertained all night!

9:45 pm: Fireworks

Make sure to stay for the impressive display by our valuable partner, Chrome Fireworks and Displays. The show begins when the western horizon is entirely dark and is accompanied by music. Following the finale, lights will be turned on throughout the park to ensure our guests' safe departure.

Activities:

2:00 - 9:30 PM: Cornhole Boards

Enjoy our open and free cornhole boards in the beer tent. Sponsored by Lexus of Madison. You must be 21 years old to enter the beer tent. Children must be with a guardian.

2:00 - 3:00 PM: Kids' Bike Parade

Get ready for the kids' bike parade by decorating your bike, trike, wagon, or wheelchair for free from 2-2:45 pm, followed by the parade from 2:45-3:00 pm. This activity has been relocated to the parking lot by the north pavilion near the baseball fields.

2:15 PM: F-35 Flyover

Two F-35s from the Wisconsin Air National Guard's 115th Fighter Wing will fly over during the national anthem around 2:15 pm. The beer tent or surrounding area is the best place to watch the flyover. Arriving 5-10 minutes early is recommended to secure a good spot. A big shoutout to the flight and ground crews for their service and dedication!

2:00 - 6:00 PM: Pony Rides

One Community Bank sponsors free pony rides. Four hand-led ponies from Haven’s Petting Farm.

2:00 - 6:30 PM: Firetruck

Enjoy the free firetruck experience. Use a fire hose, see the fire engine, and meet Waunakee's volunteer firefighters!

2:00 - 8:00 PM: RC Race Course

DCAR David’s Certified Auto Repair sponsors the free and unlimited WaunaBoom race track, featuring six remote-controlled trucks and cars racing around a 32’ x 40’ track complete with jumps.

2:00 - 8:00 PM: Bumper Cars

Bump, spin, and race at WaunaBoom's bumper car battle! Free and unlimited fun from our generous sponsors. Drivers must be 8+ to operate solo. Younger children can ride with a guardian.

2:00 - 7:00 PM: Glitter Tattoos
 
Add some sparkle with free glitter tattoos! Sponsored by our partners at Minuteman Press, who print all of our event signage and banners.

2:00 - 7:00 PM: Balloon Artist

A WaunaBoom favorite, Neil the Real Deal will be twisting free balloon sculptures all afternoon.

2:00 - 8:00 PM: Petting Farm

One Community Bank sponsors WaunaBoom's free petting farm, featuring a variety of cute animals such as a zebra, bunnies, chicks, lambs, goats, ducks, a mini potbelly pig, llamas, a mini horse, and a mini donkey from Haven's Petting Farm.

2:00 - 8:00 PM: Climbing Wall
 
Enjoy free and unlimited rock climbing on Trending Now Promotions' 25-foot portable climbing wall.

2:00 - 8:00 PM: The Pirate Ship

Embark on a swashbuckling adventure aboard TDS’s Phantom’s Revenge! This free ride swings back and forth, hosting up to 12 pirates, ensuring a thrilling adventure for all! Get ready for high-seas excitement!

2:00 - 8:00 PM: Ninja Wall

Clear Vision ProWash sponsors our exhilarating Ninja Warped Wall challenge. Prepare to unleash your inner ninja at WaunaBoom! Conquer towering 10- and 12-foot climbing walls in the ultimate test of strength and agility. It is open to all daredevils aged 10 and above, and it's free. Are you up for the climb?

The Waunakee Area Chamber of Commerce beer tent serves Anheuser-Busch, Octopi Brewing, and The Lone Girl Brewing Company. You must be 21 years old to enter. Children can enter with a guardian. The beer tent is open from 2 - 10:15 pm.
