The Building For Kids Children's Museum
Mission
The Building for Kids Children's Museum's mission is to empower children, engage parents and energize communities.
We accomplish our mission by providing specially designed exhibits, programs and events. Our goal is to inspire, teach and reinforce curiosity.
History:
Established in downtown Appleton, Wisconsin in 1991, the Fox Cities Children's Museum opened its doors in November 1992, occupying only a section of our current second floor. In 2006, the facility was expanded and completely renovated with new exhibits designed by kids for kids under the new name The Building for Kids.
Fun Facts:
- We see over 100,000 visitors a year
- Over 11,000 visitors come each year for field trips, with almost 7,000 Discovery Class students
- Over 3,000 people came to the BFK to celebrate birthdays in the last year
- Though most of our visitors come from Outagamie & Winnebago County, we see visitors from all over the world
Thank You!
The Building for Kids, Inc., is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization. It is because of the generosity of the community that we are able to offer exciting exhibits, educational programming and fun family events.
