Kitsap Memorial State Park
Lovebirds, take heed! Kitsap Memorial State Park on Hood Canal is a popular spot for Washington couples heading to the altar.
The park's quaint hall hosts all types of weddings in summer, and the venue is often festooned with colors and themes. Kitsap Memorial's outdoor shelter provides a top-notch beachhead ceremony site, and the park's four cabins can be rented as lodging for out-of-town guests and for on-site wedding preparation. Camping and RV sites also are available.
You don't have to be in love to fall in love with Kitsap Memorial. Enjoy the journey over the Hood Canal Bridge, via Highway 3 or afloat on the Edmonds-Kingston Ferry. The park offers activities that include fishing and two playing fields for Frisbee, kite flying and croquet.
Proof that beautiful things come in small packages: this 62-acre park north of Poulsbo serves up inspiring sunrise and sunset views. On clear mornings, the east-facing Olympic Mountains reflect pink and orange. On warm summer evenings, their peaks are often cast in silhouette by the glowing red sky.
Whether you're planning your big day or looking for a simple day at the beach, this park could be your match.
