Black Box Theatre
About Us:
The Black Box Theatre is a 200-seat, multi-purpose theater venue with flexible seating that opened on the Edmonds Community College campus in October 2008. The Theatre serves as a community events space to enhance arts education at Edmonds Community College and in Snohomish County through educational outreach programs, community partnerships and performing arts presentations.
The Theater, as an educational resource for the college and region, offers learning opportunities through its Lecture Series and Conversations Series on topics chosen to enhance curriculum and engage students in thoughtful discussions outside of the classroom. The Black Box partners with the Arts, Culture, and Civic Engagement Initiative and with student clubs to increase campus involvement giving students, a greater voice in the programming ideas at the Black Box and creating an environment for Engagement, Exploration and Education.
The Black Box Theatre at Edmonds Community College strives to partner with neighboring businesses and arts organizations to connect the campus to the greater community and bring exciting performing arts events to Snohomish County. This community participation is key to making Edmonds Community College and The Black Box Theatre a cultural hub for Enlightenment and Entertainment in the area.
