The Middleburg Film Festival, founded in 2013, offers four days of fantastic films in a spectacular setting, only 30 minutes from Dulles International Airport and just one hour from Washington, D.C. A carefully curated selection of narrative and documentary films screen in intimate theatre environments, followed by fascinating conversations with world-renowned filmmakers, actors, and other special guests. The films include festival favorites, world and regional premieres, first-class foreign films, and Oscar contenders.

MFF 2023 featured 40 films including: RUSTIN, THE HOLDOVERS, AMERICAN FICTION, MAESTRO, MAY DECEMBER, THE ZONE OF INTEREST, ANATOMY OF A FALL, SALTBURN, NYAD, ALL OF US STRANGERS, PRISCILLA, THE KILLER, DREAM SCENARIO, FRYBREAD FACE & ME, SOCIETY OF THE SNOW, THE TASTE OF EVERYTHING, TOTEM, THE TEACHERS LOUNGE,  THE MONK & THE GUN, SHAYDA, EILEEN, AMERICAN SYMPHONY, THE LADY BIRD DIARIES, STAMPED FROM THE BEGINNING, and INVISIBLE NATION,

Honorees and special guests included Directors Alexander Payne, George C. Wolfe, Emerald Fennell, Celine Song, Cord Jefferson, Todd Haynes, Billy Luther, Roger Ross Williams, Dawn Porter, Matthew Heineman, Kris Bowers and Vanessa Hope;; Actors Cailee Spaeny and Christina Friedel; Producers Tonia Davis, Kristie Macosko Krieger, Bruce Cohen and Ted Hope; Screenwriters Julia Cox and Samy Burch; Costume Designer Stacey Battat, Film Composer Michael Giacchino, and Makeup Artist Kazu Hiro.

Other special events include conversations with filmmakers and actors in intimate settings, master classes, concerts featuring the work of renowned composers and songwriters, tastings at local wineries and breweries, and great parties!

Festival attendees can also experience the natural beauty, food, wine, and warm hospitality of Middleburg during morning hikes and horseback rides through the glorious Piedmont countryside… wine tastings at local vineyards... strolling and shopping along historic Main Street … and enjoying delicious cuisine and beverages at local restaurants.
