Altria Theater is proud to welcome Richmond’s 4th Annual All White Southern Soul Music Festival featuring King George, Pokey Bear, Nellie Tiger Travis, In Gratitude: A Tribute to Earth Wind & Fire, Mr. Campbell, Lamar Brace, Fat Daddy and Shae Nycole. Originating from a combination of blues, country, and early rock and roll, and with a strong gospel influence, Southern Soul was popular in the 1960s and 1970s but has continued to be enjoyed into the present.  The concert will be held at Altria Theater on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at 7 PM.

  • King George – In February 2022 King George’s song “Keep on Rollin” catapulted him into the spotlight captivating audiences worldwide with his soulful voice and captivating lyrics. The viral success of this song marked the beginning of his meteoric rise in the music industry.
  • Pokey Bear – Southern bluesman Pokey Bear injects a larger-than-life swagger into his R&B-infused bayou soul. The Baton Rouge party-starter released his solo effort Josephine Son Pokey in 2014; the album included his de facto theme song, "They Call Me Pokey." 
  • Nellie “Tiger” Travis –Her 2013 Southern soul hit “Mr. Sexy Man” spirited a line dance popular in Southern Soul venues. With an unfiltered, down home sound that encompasses classic R&B, contemporary blues and Southern soul, Nellie’s wide-ranging music crosses age, gender and racial boundaries for more than 25 years.  
  • In Gratitude: A Tribute to Earth, Wind & Fire – offering and impressive bit of familiar earth wind and fire tunes, especially those from the classic years between 1973 and 1983, the band features outstanding singing and instrumental performances, creative choreography and exciting production elements.
  • Mr. Campbell –  A blues, R&B soul singer and songwriter known for his hit “I’m Steppin Out”, “Going Down To The Trialride”, etc.
  • Lamar Brace – One of the hottest southern soul artist producing such hits as “Got My Whiskey”, “Cut Up” and others.
  • Fat Daddy –  Dallas, TX born & raised an exceptional soul singer giving you such hits as “Mail Man”, “The Blame” and more.
  • Shae Nycole – A talented actress, singer and creator of such hits as “Do Right”, “Run It Up” and “No Strings” she’s been reaching for the star for a minute, this time she’s
