Explore the condition of the Salt Lake Valley's waterways and learn about recreation in your backyard. The Range 2 River Relay is light on competition and heavy on fun!

Team Heat

For those looking to build friendships and have family-friendly fun! Teams include a biker, boater, and runner. The first participant bikes the path of City Creek. This 7.2-mile leg starts at the Utah State Fairpark - West Lot, bikes up to the City Creek Canyon Trailhead, and ends back at the Utah State Fairpark - West Lot. The second teammate boats the Jordan River northward. This 3.3-mile leg starts at Utah State Fairpark - West Lot and ends at Riverview Trailhead. The scenic Jordan River Trail is utilized for the final stretch of the race. This 3.4-mile leg starts at the Riverview Trailhead and finishes back at the Utah State Fairpark - West Lot.

Individual Heat

For those looking to test their active transportation and outdoor recreation abilities! Participate in the course as a triathlon.

Competitors are required to bring their own equipment, including a bicycle, bicycle helmet, non-motorized watercraft, paddle(s), and personal floatation device. Kayaks, canoes, personal floatation devices, and paddles rentals from the Jordan River Commission are sold out. Additional equipment can be rented from your local gear outfitters or the University of Utah's Outdoor Adventures for a fee.

FINISH LINE CELEBRATION

Enjoy bites, brews from Epic Brewing, music, and learn about local causes. Spectators can watch as competitors start and end the bike leg, start the boat leg, and finish the final run leg. Make sure to stay for the crowning of this year's Range 2 River Relay champions!

COURSE

Bike - 7.2 miles, 30-45 minutes (Utah State Fairpark - West Lot to City Creek Canyon Trailhead to Utah State Fairpark - West Lot).

Boat - 3.3 miles, 45-60 minutes (Utah State Fairpark - West Lot to Riverview Trailhead).

Run - 3.4 miles, 30-45 minutes (Riverview Trailhead to Utah State Fairpark - West Lot).
