Joseph Smith Memorial Building
The Joseph Smith Memorial Building was built in 1911 and was formerly known as the Hotel Utah. The building is named in honor of the first prophet of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Visitors are welcomed to tour this magnificent building and enjoy the magnificent work of architecture, both inside and out.
While inside, visitors are invited to view a free premier film titled "Joseph Smith: The Prophet of the Restoration" in the Legacy Theater. The film is shown Monday through Saturday at 9:00 am, 10:30 am, 12:00 pm, 1:30 pm, 3:00 pm, 4:30 pm, 6:00 pm, 7:30 pm, and 9:00 pm. Advanced reservations can be made up to three months in advance by calling (801) 240-4383 from 9:00 am through 5:00 pm MST.
