The Blue Moon Festival! Celebrate Holladay's vibrant arts culture with an arts market, children's activities, music, and delicious food and drink. Free admission for all.

Children's Activities:

UMFA at the Blue Moon Festival: Paint the Utah Landscape
Join the Utah Museum of Fine Arts to paint a watercolor of Great Salt Lake. Imagine a landscape of salt and water then try a special technique with salt to add interest to your painting. The Utah Museum of Fine Arts (UMFA) at the University of Utah is your destination for global visual arts. UMFA also works as steward of Spiral Jetty, a land art masterpiece in Great Salt Lake, to preserve, maintain, and advocate for this important artwork.

Face Painting:
The Holladay Arts Council will have free, simple face painting available to children 12 and under. You will need to be in line by 7:30 PM to have your face painted.

Balloon Twisters:
Locally Twisted will provide free balloons to children 12 and under. You will need to be in line by 7:30 PM to receive a free twisted balloon.

Festival Fingerprint Fun:
Each child will be invited to make a thumbprint on a small piece of paper and then turn it into a self portrait with a black pen.  These portraits will be collected and assembled into a community art project/ collage and will hang in city hall after the festival for a time.  They will also be encouraged to do more thumbprints and use their creativity to transform them into more portraits or even animals to bring home.
