Flag Day

We invite you to a night of honor for Fire Fighters, Police, Safety Officers, Paramedic First Responders, with our Special Guest Speaker. Chief Troy Beebe, Provo Police Chief will be the Featured Speaker then followed by the dignified retirement of worn and tattered Flags by the The American Legion and DAR youth. This event respectfully retires flags that have become so tattered and worn that they no longer properly represent the great sacrifices and values of the United States. According to the U.S. Flag Code, "the flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem for display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning." The Freedom Festival Flag Retirement Ceremony begins with Children of the Daughters of the Revolution posting the National Colors of Flags flown on U.S. soil since her birth. We will also be honored to hear from one of our Freedom Festival Youth Speakers.
