Stars, Stripes, and Pecos Pride: 4th of July Festival

The Town of Pecos City and Reeves County are excited to announce their inaugural 4th of July Festival, set to take place at Maxey Park located on Cothrun St., Pecos, Texas. The festivities will kick off at 3:00 p.m. and conclude at 9:30 p.m. with a spectacular fireworks display.

The festival will feature approximately 30 vendors, including food trucks, small boutiques, bounce houses, and more, providing a fun and engaging experience for attendees of all ages.

Event Highlights:

Splash Pad
- Open from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for everyone to cool off and enjoy.
 
Cornhole Tournament hosted by Cyclone Ballparks
- Starts at 4:00 p.m. near Maxey Park volleyball court.
- $20 per team (2 players), with a maximum of 16 teams.
- Sign up by calling 432-445-2421 or sign-up online at https://forms.office.com/g/9SXFpDa5iR and submit the entry fee in cash on the day of the event.

Hot Dog Eating Contest sponsored by Best Western Plus Swiss Chalet
- Begins at 5:00 p.m. with categories for children (10-17), women, and men.
- The winner will receive the hot dog eating trophy.
- Sign up by calling 432-445-2421, online at https://forms.office.com/g/fQZSkjsPMQ, or in-person on the day of the event.

Dunking Booth hosted by the Pecos Police Department
- Available until 8:00 p.m. near the volleyball court.
- Participants will include city council members, administration, police officers, and more.
- $5 for 3 balls, with funds raised going to the Pecos PD Scholarship.

Goat Roping Productions by Lelan Tarango
- Book opens at 6:30 p.m., and roping starts at 7:00 p.m.
- Individual sign-up for $10, and team sign-up for $20.

Free Potato Sack Races hosted by the Pecos Youth Advisory
- Held throughout the event near the basketball courts at Maxey Park.

Volleyball and Basketball Courts
- Available for public use during the event.

Fireworks Show
- Begins at approximately 9:30 p.m.
