Peggy Stern: The String/Flute Project

This June 18th Peggy Stern (pianist, composer) will be presenting The String/Flute project, a chamber music setting of Peggy’s original compositions, at Monks Jazz Club. “I have enjoyed working on this project for quite awhile, writing several new tunes for the occasion, and fleshing out some older ones. It has been a joy to give each member of the group a specific role to play in the harmonic and melodic trajectory of each piece. Of course, this being jazz music (with a gentle classical bent), the evening will include plenty of improvisation.
