The French Legation Museum preserves and maintains the integrity of this historic site while interpreting the Republic of Texas era through the life and times of its residents.

About us

Since 1956, the French Legation Museum has interpreted and preserved the oldest building in Austin (c 1841), an early diplomatic residence. The Museum provides tours, special events, family programs, and TEKS-aligned school programs both on and offsite.The FLM is operated by professional staff responsible to the French Legation Museum Committee, which reports to the DRT Board of Managers.
