Join us September 7th from 10:30am-10pm to help us raise awareness about disaster and emergency preparedness as we observe the first week of National Preparedness Month!
This is a charity event with the purpose of raising awareness on disaster and emergency preparedness and raising funds for our community programs. Our goal is to raise $50,000!
Live bands, food/beverage/arts/crafts vendors, entertainment, and more.
Although we will be handing out preparedness materials, this is NOT a training event!
Disasters are happening more frequently and with more intensity than before. Some communities never fully recover before they are hit again.
This is why it is so important to be prepared, and to do this you must become aware of what threats and hazards pose a risk to the community that you live in and what steps you can take to be ready when disaster strikes.
In observance of National Preparedness Month we hope to raise awareness and shine light on a topic that is not talked about enough: Disaster and Emergency Preparedness.
Taking training and taking steps to being prepared builds a stronger, more resilient community that is ready for the threats and hazards that pose the greatest risk to our Nation.
This year's National Preparedness Month theme is empowering Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander communities to act today to prepare for future risks and disasters.
We will also have preparedness materials and specialized games for the kiddos to take home to get the next generation involved in preparedness.
The San Antonio chapter of the American Red Cross will be present with preparedness materials as well.
