History

Duck River Raceway Park, LLC located in Wheel, TN has dep roots as a racing venue that has been in operation since 1973. Originally built and named Duck River Speedway by Mr. Sam Pugh, the ¼ mile dirt track has a long history of producing some the nation’s most exciting races for fans and racers alike.

For over 40 years now, the dirt track racing community has gathered on Saturday nights at Duck River to witness local heroes and national dirt racing stars suit up to race. The racing roots run deep as families, friends, and foes which continue to gather at DRRP to support racing competition at its best.

DRRP offers a wide variety of racing. From March through December, many different classes race each and every Saturday night. Fans see: Super Late Models, 604 Late Models, 602 Late Models, Street Stocks and Pure Pony to name a few. Special events are also held with national and regional touring series such as: CRUSA Street Stocks Series, Duck River’s Winterfest, Annual Memorial Day Classic, the Sam Pugh Labor Day Weekend, and Deep Fried 75 Super Late Model events.
