Discovery Dash 5K/10K and 1 Mile Fun Run

Looking to walk/run the most unusual course in the world? You’ll discover it on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2024 at Discovery Park of America.

The route meanders through a 50-acre heritage park that features a man-made river flowing through the extensively landscaped property, along with waterfalls, bridges and other water features. No place else can you dash by a 120-year-old church, an 1800s frontier settlement, a reproduction of a town from the early 19th Century and a complete vintage train station.

From dynamic race day check-in and pre-race entertainment to the dramatic inflatable archway finish line, finisher’s certificates and winner’s medals, you won’t want to miss a moment.

Stick around after the event and explore the 100,000-square-foot museum and enjoy Pediatric Day 2024. Children 17 and under receive free admission on this day thanks to Pediatric Place of Union City, and Discovery Dashers each receive two free admission tickets.

2024 Schedule:

6:30-7:45 a.m. – Registration

8 a.m. – 10K begins

8:30 a.m. – 5K begins

9:00 a.m. – 1-Mile Fun Walk/Run begins

9:30 a.m. –  Awards Ceremony

Awards are presented in the 5K and 10K for males and females in the age categories of:

12 and under

13-19

20-29

30-39

40-49

50-59

60 and over

Registration for the 5K and 1-mile fun run prior to July 31 is $25 and includes a Discovery Dash t-shirt and two free admission tickets to Discovery Park for the day. Beginning August 1, the registration fee will be increased to $30 dollars, and race t-shirts will be available only while supplies last. Registration for the 10K prior to July 31 is $30 and includes a Discovery Dash t-shirt and two free admission tickets to Discovery Park for the day. Beginning August 1, the registration fee will be increased to $35 dollars, and race t-shirts will be available only while supplies last.
