Days of '76 Rodeo
History
The Days of '76, which also includes parades on Deadwood's Historic Main Street, has been a staple each summer in Deadwood for 99 years. And since 1998, Deadwood has been honored as the Rodeo Committee of the year 19 times, the first four in the Small Outdoor Rodeo category, 14 Outdoor Medium Rodeo Committee awards since the category was created in 2004 and the 2020 Large Outdoor Rodeo of the Year. Deadwood is also a 16-time winner of the Badlands Circuit Rodeo of the Year Award (1998-2018). The committee has increased the prize money 600% over the last 22 years. In July 2011 the Days of '76 Committee was inducted into the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame.
