Brandon’s Hoversten Orchards covers 25 acres with five thousand trees and various apples. This orchard also sells apple and farm products like apple cider, fresh honey, pies, preserves, jellies, salsa, and barbecues. See you at the orchard!
Country Apple Orchard, Harrisburg, SD
Since 1984, this orchard has been a favorite for those in the Sioux Falls area. Country Apple Orchard has about 6,000 trees with 13 varieties of apple, including Connel Red, Cortland, Fireside, Haralson, Haralred, Honey Gold, Honey Crisp, Jonathon, McIntosh, Paula Red, Regent, Red Cortland, and Sweet Sixteen. The harvest begins in mid-August and continues to late October. Seven acres of pumpkins are also available. It is only five miles from Sioux Falls in Harrisburg, so it is easy to get to.
Prairie Blush Orchards, Lake Norden, SD
Prairie Blush Orchards is on a rural countryside farm and is family-owned and operated. Visitors get an authentic farming atmosphere and can pick fresh apples. Pumpkin and squash are also available. Many apples are grown here, including Ruby Macintosh, Haralson, State Fair, Honeycrisp, Sweet Sixteen, SnowSweet, Connel Red, and Red Baron. The last harvest is usually in early to mid-October. This orchard opens in early September, so mark your calendar!
Homestead Orchard, Parker, SD
Homestead Orchard is located in the town of Parker outside of Sioux Falls. The apple variety changes weekly as more apples ripen. In addition to apples, they offer pumpkins, many types of squash, and gourds. Visitors can also marvel at the over 100 plots of chrysanthemums.
