Edisto Island Historic Preservation Society Museum
Edisto Island has long been a special place.A barrier island roughly halfway between Charleston and Beaufort, SC, it was purchased from the Edisto Indians by the Lords Proprietors in 1674 in consideration of "Valuable Cloth, Hatchettes, Brads and other Goods and Manufactures."
The Edisto Island Historic Preservation Society is a non-profit organization chartered by the State of South Carolina which exists to preserve and exhibit the history of Edisto Island.
