Join Curator of Historic Textiles Virginia Theerman in the Historic Textiles Gallery for the final tour of the current exhibit, The Art of Abstraction: Modernism in Quilting, before it closes September 15th! This collaborative exhibition with the Gibbes Museum of Art pairs abstract artworks alongside the Museum’s quilts to showcase the artistic beauty of both mediums. Learn about the artistic principles that underpin the designs, and the flow of both creativity and social history in these art forms.

Conversations with a Curator allows visitors a chance to have an in-depth look at an object or exhibit in the Museum galleries, ask questions and spark conversations. The Charleston Museum’s collections are both extraordinary and diverse and each Curator-led talk and tour allows participants to immerse themselves in a different aspect of Charleston’s rich history.

All Conversations with a Curator programs are open to the public and FREE for Members and FREE with admission.
