Brown Play School 5K Race
We are parents and teachers of Brown Play School, a non-profit preschool in Rumford, RI and we’re thrilled to bring back our 12th Annual 5K fundraiser! The Road Race will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024. The race begins and ends at our campus, across from Rumford Center. We are expecting a large turnout as the event is being widely marketed throughout the area and the running community.
The central goal of Brown Play School is to partner with families in guiding children as they build the foundation for a life of learning. Because the preschool years are a crucial time for social development, Brown Play School feels it is essential to provide an environment that will help children become empathetic, self-assured, and socially adjusted contributors to our community.
Brown Play School was founded in 1950 by members of the Brown University community. It is now an independent, non-profit preschool serving three to five-year-old children from RI and nearby MA. The school philosophy is based on the Reggio Emilia approach to early childhood, which originated in Italy and has captured the attention of the world by focusing on art and creativity with an emphasis on parental involvement and community.
