Shoaff's Mill is an 1840's era Grist Mill that operates from May to October on weekends from 1-3pm. See a 32 ft steel waterwheel turn just as it has for over 100 years.

The Mill was originally built around 1837 by the owners of the Juniata Furnace, which was located just outside of park property. In 1866, several years after the Furnace closed, the Mill was sold to William Shoaff, and the Shoaff family owned and operated the mill for 100 years, grinding corn, wheat, and animal feeds, as well as producing apple cider and black walnut products. The state took control of the Mill and rennovated it in the 1970s, turning it into a working museum. Many original artifacts still exist within the old mill.

Shoaff's Mill is generally open on Saturdays and Sundays, 1-3pm from mid-May through mid-Oct. Closings may occur due to staffing shortages - we will update the DCNR Calendar and Facebook events if those closings occur.

Registrations are not required - this is a first come, first serve facility.  If you have any questions or concerns, or need special accommodations, please email mewilt@pa.gov.
