Find the Best Things

Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh

Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh (CLP), founded in 1895, offers library services from 17 neighborhood library locations, the Main Library in Oakland and the Library for the Blind and Physically handicapped. CLP, a public trust and independent organization that receives no financial benefit from the Carnegie Museums, has been central to community life in all of Pittsburgh's neighborhoods.

A contemporary and vibrant institution, the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh will be recognized as the region's best information resource. It will serve as an essential community anchor by promoting positive change and helping neighborhoods to flourish. By embracing the future while guarding tradition, the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh will be a preferred destination for knowledge, entertainment and social interaction.
