There will be a Local Vendor Faire, G-N-S Enterprises will be bringing in their custom laser shooting system trailer. The event will conclude with the 5th BBQ Cookoff Challenge Saturday Afternoon with The Sleepless Truckers, Central Oregon's Best Outlaw Country Band, will play into the evening as we all eat the amazing BBQ and enjoy the beautiful Oregon backdrop and our community.
Saturday, October 19th
9:30 AM- A pancake breakfast kicks off the day of festivities and guest speakers.
10:30 AM- Current Oregon Senator and candidate for Secretary of State, Dennis Linthicum will kick off the day by talking about his view of Oregon's current political climate and how he sees the future for the State. Dennis is a true Statesman, who understands both the State and Federal Constitutions and why they are so important. He writes a wonderful monthly newsletter that is full of information and insight that should not be missed.
12:00 PM- PRO5 is proud to welcome back to our family, Krisanne Hall and her husband JC Hall. The Hall's have become friends to PRO5 and this will be Krisanne's fourth talk to our community. Krisanne is a Constitutional Attorney and author from Florida. She is a former state prosecutor fired after teaching the constitution to Tea Party groups, as she would not sacrifice liberty for a paycheck. She is a disabled army veteran, a Russian linguist, a mother, and a pastor's wife. She now travels teaching the Constitution and the history that gave us our guiding document. Krisanne's ability to teach and motivate a room is unmatched and we look forward to having her back as our Keynote speaker.
4:00 PM- Judging begins on the BBQ Cookoff Challenge and 2nd Annual Cornhole Tournament. This event began with just a couple of contestants talking smack about who could bring the best meats to the group. Last year we expanded to 5 contestants who were judged on the best chicken thighs, tri-tip, and brisket. We opened up the contest for the first time to side dishes too! This year's contest looks to expand on last year's success. If you would like to enter either contest, please email BJ Soper at events@pro5.us. Meats will be provided to cook, but side dishes will need to be supplied. You may enter in one, many, or all of the following categories:
Best Chicken Thighs
Best Tri-Tip
Best Brisket
Best Pasta Side Dish
Best Bean Dish
Best Coleslaw
Best Bread
Best Dessert
After the judging, (and feeding the band) we will all eat our fill of the amazing food prepared and listen as The Sleepless Truckers kick off the evening with live music. Last year, we asked for side dishes to be brought as a potluck. Your dish does not have to be judged, but please bring along a side dish of your choice to share. Once we get our fill, we will do a People's Choice award for each of the dishes and award the overall best BBQ Challenge chef with the most points in the 3 meat categories and crown our champion cornhole team.
All Day - The vendor fair will kick off Saturday morning in the grass area along the road. The booths will be open and available to walk through until sunset.
We will have pony rides and a bouncy house for the kids to play in and the laser shooting simulator will be open to try out for a small fee.
