9 Best Steakhouses in Oregon!

or steakhouse

Oregon’s many steakhouses and saloons embrace their Wild West roots like few other states in the country. The steakhouses run the gamut from tuxedo-clad servers to hokey good times. Whether you’re looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion or simply a night out with the family, one of the following steakhouses will surely do you right.

Rudy’s Steakhouse, Salem, OR

Rudy’s Steakhouse is a classic, relaxed steakhouse with views of the golf course and an atmospheric fireplace. All of their steaks are cut daily. All of your favorite cuts of steak are represented, including a 12-ounce filet mignon, prime sirloin, and New York strip.

Barney Prine’s Steakhouse and Saloon, Prineville, OR

Barney Prine’s Steakhouse and Saloon has an old west theme that is either rustic and charming or won’t fit your particular steakhouse needs. But if you’re in the mood for good food in a restaurant that doesn’t take itself too seriously, while celebrating its old west roots, then Barney’s might be the perfect fit. Open for lunch and dinner, Barney’s serves hand cut steaks. Dinners include house salad wedge or soup of the day.

Mackey’s Steakhouse and Pub, Ontario, OR

Mackey’s Steakhouse and Pub in Ontario is a family-friendly restaurant that embraces its Irish roots. During the warmer months, their large patio is home to live music and a concert series. The menu is large and has seafood, sandwiches, traditional Irish food, burgers, and steak options.

Hamley Steakhouse, Pendleton, OR

Hamley Steakhouse exists on the opposite end of the spectrum from Mackey’s. Hamley also embraces its roots as part of the old west tradition, but is a bit more upscale. Steaks include the prime rib and J.J. Hamley Filet, serviced with port demi-glace, mashed potatoes and vegetables.

Haines Steakhouse, Haines, OR

Haines Steakhouse in Haines prides itself on having a friendly and comfortable dining room, a full-service bar, a banquet facility, and “hearty steaks, savory seafood, a fresh salad bar, juicy burgers, and gourmet desserts.” Can’t decide on what to order? Try the Steakhouse Combo Sampler. It comes with smoked brisket, barbecue ribs, and prime rib.

The Blacksmith Steakhouse Bar Lounge, Bend, OR

The aptly named Blacksmith Steakhouse Bar and Lounge is in an actual former blacksmith shop. They define their food as “Distinctive Bold Cuisine in a relaxed yet elegant atmosphere.” The entrees range the gamut from salmon to Cajun beef medallions and chicken marsala. Get the Dungeness Crab Corn Dogs for an appetizer.

Broadway Saloon, Beaverton, OR

Dine in a repurposed jail at the Broadway Saloon in Beaverton. According to the website, “the name and décor were inspired by the taverns and saloons of Virginia City, Nevada, a western mining town where in 1863 Samuel Langhorne Clemens began publishing under the pen name Mark Twain.” Come in for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. All dinners include garlic bread, house salad, or house-made soup, and a choice of potato. The steaks are reasonably priced.

Ringside Steakhouse, Portland, OR

Since 1944, Ringside Steakhouse has been one of Portland’s most celebrated steakhouses, receiving accolades for their steaks, wines, and more. Begin your meal, like most guests do, with their world-famous onion rings. Tuxedoed wait staff is on-hand to take care of anything you could desire. The steaks are USDA Prime and Certified Angus Natural Beef aged for a minimum of four weeks and in one of Portland’s only on-site dry aging rooms.

Madaline’s Grill and Steakhouse, Redmond, OR

Inspired by Mexican cuisine, this Mexican-American fusion restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Madaline’s is great for a night out with the kids or for a quick lunch. We wouldn’t say to save a trip to Madaline’s for a special occasion, but if you’re in the mood for reasonably priced steak in a comfortable, kid-friendly environment, then you could do much worse.
