Cannon Beach History Center and Museum

The Cannon Beach History Center and Museum is a jewel on the Oregon Coast! With an interactive permanent exhibit, Spanish audio translations, temporary exhibits, a seasonal quilt show, and THE ORIGINAL cannon of Cannon Beach, our museum draws thousands of visitors per year. Our museum also houses an original porthole from Tillamook Rock Lighthouse, a Native American longhouse replica, an ecology station, a classroom, and a gift shop.

The History Center's main goal is to gather, catalog, preserve, and provide access too the unique history of Cannon Beach. We do this by recording oral histories, managing an extensive photo collection, creating temporary exhibits, and offering free lectures, special events, and programs for the public.

We operate solely on the generosity of donors, members, sponsors, and volunteers. There are a variety of volunteer opportunities at the History Center, from providing Historical Walking Tours during sunny summer, to acting as a docent at the museum. We are currently in need of library and collections volunteers, Cottage Tour committee members, and daily docents.
