Cannon Beach History Center and Museum
The Cannon Beach History Center and Museum is a jewel on the Oregon Coast! The interactive, permanent exhibit features a Native American longhouse replica, an original porthole from Tillamook Rock Lighthouse, the original cannon of Cannon Beach, and much more. We also have two temporary exhibits, Spanish audio translations of the permanent exhibit, and seasonal quilt shows.
The organization is dedicated to gathering, cataloging, preserving, and providing access to the unique history of Cannon Beach. We currently have collected over 140 oral histories, and provide free lectures and special events that highlight the history of our area, including the annual Cottage Tour, a tour of vintage beach homes in Cannon Beach.
We are a non-profit organization, and rely on the support of sponsors, members, and volunteers to function. There are a variety of volunteer opportunities, from giving Historical Walking Tours of downtown in the sunny summer, to acting as a docent at the museum. We currently have need for a library manager, Cottage Tour committee members, and daily docents.
