Mt. Hood National Forest, Sandy, OR

Drive through the scenic Mt. Hood National Forest, known for its gorgeous fall foliage, to the breath-taking Mt. Hood. If you’re up for it, hike to the peak and take in the scenery. If not, enjoy the forest for all it offers before heading out to lunch.

Ratskeller Pizzeria, Government Camp, OR

Just over an hour from Mt. Hood, stop for lunch at the Ratskeller Alpine Bar and Pizzeria. The Chalet-style restaurant offers “the finest pizza on Mt. Hood.” They use fresh ingredients in their pizzas, burgers, and salads.

Mirror Lake Trail, Government Camp, OR

The Mirror Lake Trailhead near Government Camp is a 2.1 mile round-trip to Mirror Lake with views of Mt. Hood. More challenging hikes are available in the area, but we recommend this one to start.

Albeke Farms, Oregon City, OR

From Government Camp, travel west for around fifty miles to Albeke Farms. The family-owned and operated farm grows various fruits, including delicious apples. Make sure to call ahead of time to ensure availability.

McLoughlin Memorial Association, Oregon City, OR

Oregon City has not one, but two haunted houses. The McLoughlin House and Barclay Houses are next to each other and allegedly “share ghosts.” Both houses were built over a hundred years ago and have many different ghosts that travel between them.

Nebbiolo Restaurant and Wine Bar, Oregon City, OR

Unwind at Nebbiolo Restaurant and Wine Bar in Oregon City. They’re likely to have live, local musicians as well as excellent dinner entrees, tapas, artisan cocktails, and 300 bottles of wine. 

Sweet Betty’s Bistro, Gresham, OR
