One Miniute Animation Film Festival (OMAFF) - How to Make a Movie

Calling all filmmakers and animators, ages 9 to 99! Make your own stop-motion or 2D animated movie and show it at our premiere in this 3-part series! Use your smart phone or our equipment to create something on the theme.

Festival's theme: “Based on the Book...”

Either recreate a scene or story from a book, or use a book as inspiration for your own idea ("Inspired by the book...").

This is the first session. Here we will learn about the history, process, and techniques of animation and visual storytelling. You will brainstorm and prepare your storyboards for your own "one minute or less" movie.

- Part 2 (Saturday, September 14, 1-3 PM): Production Day. Work on your film with assistance and help others with theirs.

- Optional: Open Production Days (Sundays 1-5 and Thursdays 6-8, Sept. 15, 22, 19, 26): We will make the meeting room available for you to continue working on your movie if you need it.

- Part 3 (Saturday, September 28, 1-2 PM): Premiere Day! Help yourself to some popcorn, join us on the red carpet, and see your film on screen.
