Want to show off your favorite Halloween costume, have your face painted, make a pumpkin volcano, or discover the fascinating world of Nano bugs through interactive demonstrations?! Maybe you’ll want to have a dance party, indulge in making a tasty boo-berry boba drink or get a photo op with surprise characters! If so, then join us Saturday, October 26, 2024 at the museum for ACM’s Annual Hands-on Halloween event, presented by Akron Children’s Museum. It’s sure to be a fun day the whole family will enjoy!
From 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., children will start their trek around the museum by designing a goody bag to fill up as they complete their Halloween Fun Guide along the way. Children will groove to spooky sounds during live performances by “Mr. Jeff”. Be sure to stop by our STEM stations, where children of all ages can unleash their inner mad scientist during our Spooky Science Investigations! Kids will watch in awe as our 3D-printed bones come to life right before their eyes. Prefer something more thrilling? Lend a hand in our ghastly experiments as we set off reactions in our fizzy pumpkin volcanoes. Plus, challenge yourself to create creepy crawly mazes for our tiny, scurrying robotic bugs!
Attendees can also contribute to a community service project by bringing new, fuzzy socks that will be donated to children at Summit County Children Services for Foster and Kinship Homes. Don’t forget to get a jump start on your holiday shopping in the museum’s Monster Shop with fun items such as the plush museum monsters, puppets, coloring posters, and a wide selection of STEM toys for children!
